The situation in Semporna and Lahad Datu calm


The atmosphere in the village of Sri Jaya, Simunul and certain areas here was calm last night after six policemen were killed in an ambush a group of armed men in the village on the water on Saturday.

In the incident, six members of the group were killed.

A Bernama survey found the entrance to the village and the surrounding area controlled by the military and the police.

Security forces also advised the residents, who still lives in the village, so take precautions.

The situation in Semporna town was safe and under control although it was quiet compared to normal situations.

Meanwhile, the atmosphere in Lahad Datu is reportedly calm.

In the incident in the village Tanduo, Lahad Datu, a battle broke out between security forces and the invaders from the besieged southern Philippines since last February 9, causing two police officers and 12 members of the group were killed.
