Over 50 militants detained intruders by new act


Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar said more than 50 individuals suspected of being linked to militant invaders in Lahad Datu detention under the Security Offences (Special Measures).
   
He said they were, including women, were arrested in various parts of Sabah but outside Daulat Op.
   
"They were arrested under the new act (Safety Offences Act (Special Measures), 2012) and read (some sections) of the Penal Code," he said at a joint press conference with Army Chief here at 5 this afternoon.
   
Hail op movement in the fourth day today with a helicopter used to send security personnel to locations along the jet fighter search operation while hovering in the air survey.
   
Ismail said police are seeking information from them that the invaders militants arrested in connection to enable the security forces to achieve operational objectives.

However, he declined to disclose details of the arrests in detail for fear of compromising the investigation.
   
"Anyway, the catch is necessary and must be implemented because there are signs of a suspect linked to the invaders," he said.
   
Meanwhile, until 5 pm Zulkifeli said, his ministry is still waiting on developments in the intruder will surrender and disarm unconditionally.
   
"We have contact Wisma Putra, and still do not get any news since morning ... no signal (surrendered and put the gun) from the relevant parties.
   
"Therefore, Op Daulat continue," he said, adding there were no incidents battle between security forces and enemy today.
   
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, who inspected the headquarters of Felda Op Daulat Friends yesterday, said Malaysia rejected any truce offer and insisted the only option for the intruder put the gun and surrendered unconditionally.
