Broken ATM machine, RM87,000 lost

A group of professional criminals fled cash prize of 87.000 from production machines (ATMs) after breaking into a supermarket in Section 31, Kota Kemuning, near here, early yesterday morning.

The incident was only discovered by the management of the supermarket when to start operations at 7.30 am.

Shah Alam district police chief ACP Zahedi Ayob said the investigation revealed that criminals use Oxy-acetylene gas to break the ATM machine.

"In addition, criminals also spray paint on closed circuit television (CCTV) CCTV footage of the premises and stole their identities to avoid detection.

"We do however have other alternatives to track them down," he said when contacted yesterday.

When asked whether supermarkets also suffered losses, Zahedi said, criminals devoted to running money from the ATM machine only.
