Security forces advancing into new areas closer to the intruder militants hiding in the village of the southern Philippines Tanduo and Kampung Tanjung Batu, about 120 kilometers from here.
Army Chief Gen Tan Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zin said the security forces focus now is to clear the area in
mass.
"We believe that the remnants of the enemy is currently at both sites (Tanduo and Tanjung Batu village)," he said at a press conference with the Chief of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar operations command Felda Sahabat 16, near here today.
Felda Companions 16 is operational headquarters of security forces in Operation Hail and is located about 20km from the village Tanduo the intruder militant strongholds since last Feb. 12.
Until now the security forces shot dead 53 enemies and eight policemen were killed. Security forces also detained 106 suspected militants linked to the intruder.
On Tuesday, security forces launch air strikes using F18 fighter jet and Hawk as the first movement toward ending the invasion crisis southern Philippines militant group claiming to be soldiers of the Sultanate of Sulu.
