Seize sex drugs, sold from RM10 to RM50 a piece
Pharmacy Enforcement Officer, Department of Health (JKN) yesterday seized a variety of drugs involving the sexual stimulant about RM7, 600 in an operation at Cockle Park, Crown Road, near here, yesterday.
More frustrating when there are traders who use posters from JKN written 'Ensure all products have the registration number' which depicts as if they sell items that confirmed the quality and not illegal.
Hijacking made based on intelligence and surveillance unit enforcement officer since early this year at two locations including Cockle Park.
Operating for over an hour with three hawkers with 51 types of drugs suspected of sex stimulant drugs and some self processed and filled in capsules.
All hawkers to cooperate and allow drug enforcement officers inspected before all the drugs seized.
Principal Assistant Director, Pharmacy Enforcement Branch Enforcement, Health Department Kamaruzzaman Othman said the demand from clients can promote the sale of sex stimulant drugs.
According to him, from the information available, the drugs cost between RM10 and RM50 each.
He said the seized stimulant drugs suspected to contain sildenafil, a type of the active ingredient in Viagra can cause blood vessels to expand and users may experience blood pressure.
"These drugs can have negative consequences for consumers, especially the cause of hypertension and heart failure," he said.
Kamaruzzaman said the seized drugs will be investigated and if proven to contain banned substances, hawkers will be taken to court under the Poisons Act 1952.
Receive supplies from boss
Hawker sex stimulant drugs in Park Shells acknowledge receipt of supplies from a boss who had a shop in the city.
When asked by law enforcement, they said, the drug delivered to the point of sale, but there are also purchased from the store.
A 47-year-old hawker pleaded get the medical supplies from a boss who sent it to that place.
He said the other sex stimulant drugs, he also peddle perfume and hot oil in there without a license since three months ago.
However, he said, the drugs have a buyer though not certain how many are sold and within a month.
Men who have permanent resident status was also admitted enforcement raided about two weeks ago.
Another hawker said he knew that selling drugs is an offense but also put posters Department of Health (Health Department) showing the sale of medicines requires a registration number.
He is now more than two years of business there but to cooperate with the Pharmacy Enforcement Officers and accept the fate of drugs were seized for further action.
