Special SPR meeting ushers in early general election next week
Election Commission (SPR) will hold a special meeting to decide on the date of nomination and election General Election-13 (13th General Elections) early next week.
Deputy chairman Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said he was still waiting for a letter from the Speaker informed the dissolution of Parliament and State Assemblies (Dun) throughout the country.
"We have to respect the decision (dissolution). Some states have not disband Dun ... we wait for notification from the speakers of their respective states.
"After the SPR there are several things that should be completed this week. So, a special meeting will be held early next week," he told the Daily Herald last night online.
When contacted last night, only the House of Representatives and four valid Dun has dissolved.
By the middle of the night two more states dissolve Dun.
As far as the middle of last night, Dun Perlis, Malacca, Sabah, Perak, Pahang and Terengganu has declared insolvency.
