Let the people be the judge of all my promises, says Najib

When manifesto Barisan Nasional (BN), which was launched last Saturday, still continues to rage, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the people will be the judge on his promises to shape a brighter future for all Malaysians.

The Prime Minister, who is also BN chairman, reiterated the assurance that the BN government would fulfill all the promises given to the people.

Leading BN win the first general election as prime minister, he brought his campaign to hundreds of pensioners at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), yesterday.

In an exclusive interview with Bernama TV tonight, he insisted the next general election should bring greater benefits to the people than ever before.

He said the question should be asked whether the opposition can run the country better when they appreciate the variety of opinions among themselves and could not reach a consensus on the direction and policies of the foundation.

"Changing just to see change is unwise. Instead, we need to bring changes that will produce far greater benefits than the current situation that we have," said Najib when asked how certain parties who want the opposition the opportunity administrative control of the country.

In the interview, he begged the Indians put 'nambikei' (trust) for the BN, adding that although race was not a majority in any parliamentary or state seats (Dun), but they can be a deciding factor in the states as Sslangor, Perak, Penang, Johor, Negeri Sembilan and Kedah.

Reiterated its commitment to improving the economic status of the people, so that they can have three per cent equity in the country, he urged voters consider a candidate MIC Indians as part of the team and support them if they wish to continue to lead his country.

In the meantime, a controversial blogger Papa Gomo has announced its intention to challenge the opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the Permatang Pauh parliamentary seat in the general election of the 13th (PRU13).

President of the Malaysian Heart, Mohamad Rafi Awang Kechik told reporters that Papa Gomo or real name Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris has decided to contest as an independent candidate.

Anwar, who is also the PKR de facto leader has filed a RM100 million defamation suit against the blogger last month because his associate in the spread of the sex video pictures.

As a sign of unrest in his party, two party members in Pahang today declared they would stand as an independent candidate for a parliamentary seat and chairs Great Swamp Dun Lepar where Anwar had already named candidates.

In Kuantan, Paya Besar PKR branch chief, Zahari Mamat announced to contest as an independent candidate but remains a member of the party and continue to lead the branch, while the acting head of the Youth Wing fairness (AMK) Mohamad Fauzi Ramli will contest seats Lepar.

Anwar recently announced Murnie lawyer Hidayah Anuar as the PKR candidate in parliamentary Great Swamp while Pahang PKR chairman Datuk Fauzi Abdul Rahman will defend Indera Mahkota parliamentary seats won by other PKR candidate four years ago.

Former state PKR deputy chairman III, G. Ramponusamy and an activist Mohd. Mohd Shukri. Ramli, 42, will contest an independent candidate for the seat ebagai Indera Mahkota.

Last night, a total of 300 PKK members Indera Mahkota branch headed by vice boss M. Ramesh left the party and berikar support Najib after that PKR does not have the welfare of the Indian community.

The Election Commission (SPR) will hold a meeting tomorrow to set a date for nominations and voting SPR13.
