Promise Barisan Nasional (BN) to lower car prices 20 to 30 per cent in five years is realistic and can be implemented, said Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir.
He said the government has long been aiming to reduce the price of the car but take the time to make the details carefully to ensure that government revenues are not affected and at the same time people can enjoy lower car prices.
He said this to reporters when asked to comment on the BN manifesto by the General Election (GE) 13 after launching the BN Supporters Club Jerlun Klang Valley, here today.
BN manifesto entitled 'Meet The Promise Brings Hope' launched by chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today promised to review the National Automotive Policy to reduce car prices in stages between 20 and 30 percent and improve the competitiveness of the national car.
Touching on the establishment of BN Supporters Club Jerlun Klang Valley, Mukhriz, who is also deputy chairman of the Kedah Umno liaison, said it was among other things intended to help about 2,000 voters Jerlun in the Klang Valley back to their respective areas to fulfill its obligations during the 13th general election later .
