Najib present BN manifesto. |
Manifesto of the ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) manifesto is not just, but a document of 'undertaking' to the people, the BN chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
"I do not want to say that the opposition says the manifesto manifesto is not a promise, because the name is not quite appropriate manifesto.
"I want to say but not a manifesto pledge to the people of Malaysia," he said while addressing a gathering promise of 1Malaysia "People First" in conjunction with the launch of the BN manifesto for General Election-13 (13GE) at the Putra Stadium in Bukit Jalil here tonight.
He said, since the manifesto or undertaking is an important document, it should be launched in the gathering and broadcast live across the country so that people can appreciate the manifesto's contents.
"They can examine whether the BN's commitment to the people," he said.
"Let the opposition said the manifesto is not a promise, if not the promise, what are the new manifesto landscape, what benefits the new manifesto landscape.
"To the BN manifesto is a serious matter," he said.
Instead He criticized the opposition and their manifestos described as a "fantasy and imagination" to pay lip whim.
Najib who is also Finance Minister, said if the opposition promises implemented then the budget deficit will soar to 11.5 percent while the national debt will soar.
"We can not give them a chance to run the country because there is nothing they have done in the last five years," he said.
In the meantime, he described the gathering tonight is so unusual and most wonderfully over 37 years he was involved in politics.
He said the rally tonight not only to show BN is the strongest party in the country, but is a serious night to tell to the people of the BN's ability to continue given the mandate to lead the country in the 13th GE.
More than 50,000 BN supporters flooded the Putra Stadium in Bukit Jalil for the launch of the BN manifesto and they seem enthusiastic, indicating strong support for the BN.
Manifesto on the eve of the launch was also broadcast live on RTM1, TV3 and Astro Awani.
