Nurse robbed, stabbed while jogging

A nurse died after stolen while jogging with her daughter, in Bukit Gasing, Petaling Jaya, yesterday.

Before the incident happened at about 4.30 pm, when the victim, Ong Ai Sam, 52, through a temple there, she suddenly approached by two men on a motorcycle.

Petaling Jaya OCPD ACP Arjunaidi Mohamed said the two men were trying to rob the victim.

He said the victim tried to fight until the occurrence of a struggle between them.

"Due to the struggle, the victim was seriously injured in several parts of the body and chest reliable due stabbed with a sharp weapon.

"The victim died on the way to the University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC)," he said when contacted yesterday. Arjunaidi said the two criminals then fled the scene.

He said the victim's daughter reported to be safe because when the incident, he was pretty far behind her.

He said police are looking at closed-circuit footage (CCTV) installed in some residences near the site of the incident.

"We are actively hunting for two men involved in the incident. Anyone with information on the incident asked to come forward to help the investigation," he said.

He said the case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
