Let us together Develop Malaysia


The entire youth should join hands with the government to develop the country they will inherit one day, through a variety of volunteer activities based on their interests and their skills, said Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that the younger generation's responsibility to determine the goal of Malaysia becoming a developed country and an example respected and revered the world come true.
He said the future of this country and its people not just in government alone, but also to the younger generation and youth.

"The Prime Minister on July 15 last year has announced 2013 as the Year of Volunteers with an allocation of RM100 million to fund 1Malaysia Volunteers aims to encourage activities among the younger generation.

"The government is very great recognition to the young people of this country. We want young people to work together to jointly develop and build this country through volunteer activities.

"This high-level government commitment we appreciate significant contributions in the process of making Malaysia a developed nation by 2020. We are proud that this young generation will be heir to the development and leadership of the country, "he said when launching the Malaysia My Beautiful Day 2013 in the state of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, here today.
Also present was his wife, Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman; Minister of Johor, Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman, Minister of Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam, Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Razali Ibrahim and Deputy Home Minister Datuk Wira Abu Seman Yusop.

In addition to approximately 20,000 participants joined the program involves volunteers, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) as well as tertiary students, similar events take place in 10 locations nationwide, including Johor Bahru Johor, Kluang, Kulai, Segamat, Mersing, Kota Tinggi, Batu Pahat and Pontian, involves gathering some 100,000 youths.

The Deputy Prime Minister said recent volunteer activities given less attention and there are those saying it ever fade as the government provides everything including social development, development of the area, environmental, hygiene or help people in need.

He said, although the locus of all the government's responsibility, young people who still have the passion and enthusiasm of the soul still has room to help each other.

"They can not sit still. In addition to being spectators, most are out of the school system. They have the knowledge, skills, soul and spirit that we do not want just pent so only because it can be harnessed and generated co-ruling Barisan Nasional (BN).

"This we can do, and the government has always wanted to animate this young soul to be wary of others that could affect racial harmony and economic progress that was built over the years.

"We asked young people continue to join the BN-led government that our efforts to make Malaysia a beautiful, clean, advanced, as we are proud of," he said.
