Baby corporal Maid Sentenced 20 Years Prison

Sessions Court here today sentenced a total of 20 years on an Indonesian maid after pleading guilty to two charges of abusing a four month old baby boy on Friday.

Judge Mohd Azhar Othman ruled that the sentence as the offense committed Yuliana, 23, very serious and profound effects not only to the families but communities around the world.

"Ye have caused people to be afraid and not peaceful when left daughter of a housemaid.

"This court feels this sentence accordingly and can be a lesson to you and the community," he said.

Yuliana derived from Sukarame, Acheh far she worked less than a day as a maid with the victim's family.


In the first charge, the mother of two was allegedly slamming and tossing Mohamed Mohamed Zamri Hareez nine times that can cause death to the victim at 7:45 am, on February 15 last at the residence of the victim parent in number 7, Lorong Bukit Setongkol 38, Jalan Bukit Setongkol herein.

He was charged under Section 307 of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of up to 20 years.

On the second charge, at the same place and time, he allegedly abused Mohamed Hareez with purpose and cause injury which is punishable under Section 31 (1) (a) of the Child Act 2001 which carries a jail term not exceeding 10 years or a maximum fine of RM20 , 000 or both.

For the first offense, the accused was sentenced to 15 years in jail and five years' imprisonment for the second offense.

However Mohd Azhar ruled that both sentences to run concurrently and he just needs to undergo a jail term of 15 years from the date of arrest on the day of the incident.

According to facts of the case, at 7.45 am on the day of the incident, the victim's parents were having at a kopitiam here were shocked to see their first baby maid tossed and slammed through a closed circuit camera footage on a cell phone the victim's father.

Consequently, the victim's mother, Nina Suraya Sulaiman, 24, immediately contact the neighbor to go save his son before they both rushed home.

Victim's father then called the police and the accused was arrested at 9.15 am.

Earlier, the accused was wearing purple colored lock does not show any reaction or facial expressions when he witnessed a deed CCTV footage shown to him in court via a laptop computer.

He, however, shed tears when asked to appeal sentence and said: "I'm scared".
