GEORGE TOWN: A PROPERTY agent was killed when the Porsche 911 Turbo sports car driven by her friend crashed into a tree at Jalan Kelawai early yesterday morning.
In the 6am incident, Elizabeth Cheang, 24, from Tanjung Bungah, died at the scene while the driver, a 32-year old man, was injured.
They were heading to town from Tanjung Tokong when the accident occurred near the Jalan Kelawai-Jalan Cantonment intersection.
The driver and the victim were taken to Penang Hospital.
Northeast district police chief Assistant Commissioner Gan Kong Meng said the case would be investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
