Dutch company offers RM50,000

The reward for information leading to the whereabouts of William Yau Zhen Zhong was increased to RM70,000 when a Netherlands-based information technology company put up another RM50,000 yesterday.

UNIT4 Asia Pacific Pte Ltd chief executive officer Chua Weng Foo, 47, said the company decided at its morning meeting yesterday that they should do their bit to help find the boy.
"As a parent, I can feel the pain of the missing boy's parents. We know that time is a critical element in this case, so we hope to expedite the search by offering this reward to anyone who can provide information leading to the safe return of the child," said the father of four.
The company's country manager, Tan Meng Chai, said the reward was part of their corporate social responsibility programme.
In Petaling Jaya, the 1Malaysia Petaling Jaya Service Team yesterday distributed another 3,000 flyers to taxi drivers and traders in Jalan Othman and Section 17, here.
"We have distributed the flyers at various locations, including SS2, Seapark, Sections 14 and 17 as well as PJ Old Town," said service team member Sheah Kok Fah.
As of yesterday, 11 million copies of the boy's photograph have been distributed nationwide.
The "search parties" include Wanita Umno, several non-governmental organisations and Alam Flora Sdn Bhd.
In a statement released yesterday, the solid waste disposal company's chief executive officer, Mohd Zain Hassan, said the company had printed its own posters of the missing boy to be distributed to its offices. They have also assigned 3,500 employees to distribute the posters.
"Even our garbage collectors have been tasked with distributing the posters in the neighbourhoods they serviced," he said, adding that the employees had been told to be the "ears and eyes" in assisting the authorities locate the boy.
A trader at the market in Section 17, Sia Kok Peng, 68, said yesterday it was nice to see everyone joining hands to help find the boy.
"We have people of different races, creed and religions distributing the flyers. In this time of need, everyone should forget their differences and come together for a worthy cause."
