Parents identify body as that of William Yau

The parents of William Yau Zhen Zhong confirmed that the body that was fished out from a river near Kampung Sungai Sireh in Port Klang yesterday is of their son that went missing last week.

Subang Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Yahaya Ramli said the parents identified Yau based on the scar on the right side of his forehead, two scars on the back of his head as well as the underwear and shorts on the body.

He said the case has been classified as sudden death as the initial post mortem report revealed the cause of death is uncertain.

Earlier, William's parents arrived at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah's Forensics Department around 11am.

They were escorted through the back door by policemen and were believed to have been called to identify the body of a boy found at Jeti Sungai Sireh at around 7.15pm last night.

William's father, Yau Kok Kang, was holding his wife, who was clutching a small yellow T-shirt, and crying inconsolably.

William had gone missing on January 16 near Putra Heights.
