Risda University College to be built in Perlis

Perlis will have an additional University college when the Risda University College is built on a 21 hectare site in Titi Tinggi here.

Perlis Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Md Isa Sabu said the state government had already identified and allocated a site for the University college as part of efforts to enhance higher education initiatives in the state.
The University College to be build by Risda at a cost of RM31 million will offer diploma and degree programmes he said after attending a programme called 'Ramah Mesra Pekebun Kecil bersama Menteri Besar Perlis' in Alor Tampang near here, today.
He added that Perlis currently had a number of public higher learning institutions like Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), UiTM, Institut Pendidikan Guru (Perlis campus) and Politeknik Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin and private institutions like Allianze University College of Medical Sciences (AUCMS).
Meanwhile, Risda director-general Datuk Wan Mohamad Zuki Mohamad said Risda's objective of building an university college was to provide the children of small holders nationwide an opportunity to pursue their higher education. -- BERNAMA
