Reduced to 20 percent of haji quota this year

Tabung Haji
The pilgrims who have completed the registration confirmation and approval of bid for season 1434H pilgrimage, is not affected despite Malaysian pilgrims quota reduced by 20 percent this year.

"The offer will not be withdrawn. Prospective pilgrims urged to continue the pilgrimage preparation as usual," said Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) in a statement today.

TH also recommend prospective pilgrims selected but not giving answers, so do so at once.

"Prospective pilgrims will be notified of their status by mail call pilgrimage is an intensive course and will be conducted," the statement said.

According to TH, who sent a letter of appeal to hajj this year, if they do not receive any further information until the end of Ramadan 1434H, it means that their appeal fails.

Pilgrim quota reduction is due to the government's latest directive Saudi Arabia following the expansion of the Grand Mosque in Mecca.

TH hope that people, especially the pilgrims, can accept and understand the decision because the situation is temporary quota reduction, which is expected to take effect in the next two or three years.

"Upon completion of this mega project, it is able to accommodate more pilgrims from around the world and ensure comfort when performing the fifth pillar of Islamic worship," according to TH.

For more information, prospective pilgrims are urged to visit the website or contact www.tabunghaji.com.my TH in TH-line Contact Centre at 03-6207 1919.
