Proton launch Saga SV that affordable price

Malaysians can now buy affordable cars with the launch of the Proton Saga Super Value (SV), which offers the lowest price of RM33, 438 to RM36, 888.

Reduction of 12 per cent or about RM5, 000 from the original price of Proton Saga FLX with an engine capacity of 1.3 liters was launched Proton Holdings Bhd (Proton), yesterday.

Proton Edar CEO, Hisham Othman, said the launch of the government's consistent model for progressively reducing the price of the vehicle.

He said, though Saga SV 1.3 is offered at low prices, enhanced safety features including airbags fitted two security than previous models.

"In fact, the model offers automatic and manual transmission was also recognized by the Asean three-star NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme)," he said at the launch of the Proton Saga SV here yesterday.

Saga SV 1.3 manual variant is priced at RM33, 438 (solid) and RM33, 888 (metallic), while the automatic variant costing RM36, 438 (solid) and RM36, 888 (metallic).

Mohd Khamil said the move offers a low-priced cars aimed at enabling more people to own their own car, as well as enhance the competitiveness of the local automotive vendors.

Saga SV for 1.3, he said, the buyer can pay the monthly loan as low as RM250 with selected financial institutions.

"To start, we expect sales to 2,000 units a month and is confident of continuing revenue received attractive packages offered," he said, also plans to export the model to Indonesia.

On whether Proton wants to streamline its cars price, including Sabah and Sarawak, he said he would look into some other things about the logistics and other needs.

"We will evaluate ways to streamline and absorb the costs necessary so that all Malaysians can enjoy a price," he said.

Regarding price reduction car from scratch, Mohd Khamil said, it will be done gradually because the company must take into account all aspects of the car manufacturing process.
