Residents at M16 armed intruder to death in Semporna
Dozens of residents acting beat to death M16 gunmen, believed to be involved in an ambush that killed five policemen, in the village of Sri Jaya, Siminul, Semporna last night.
However, until now the police have not given confirmation of the identity of the man.
In the incidence of 7 am today, a burly man, dressed in black, holding a gun M-16 and aged in his 50's, down from a hill and fired several shots into a prayer house in the village of Old Senallang, Semporna here.
A resident, Abdul Hani Samaullah, 44, said after the man was shot in the silent morning screaming that "I am a police shooting last night."
"The man then opened the doors of homes of each and ordered them to gather in a field," said the gathering together of people in a state of fear.
Abdul Hani said the villagers attacked the men were on his squat and install a lit cigarette and lay down his arms.
He said the man was beaten to death and his body was placed near a tree in the village.

5 police killed in Semporna
One officer and four members of the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) were killed in an ambush by armed men in the village of Sri Jaya, Siminul, Semporna, Sabah yesterday.
Inspector General of Police, Tan Sri Ismail Omar said the incident in the village on the water at 8 pm also caused two members of armed groups involved were killed.
The five policemen from Semporna District Police Headquarters was assigned to conduct the investigation in the village police received information about a group of armed men in the village, he said at a press conference here today.
Also present at the press conference by Army Chief Gen Tan Sri Zulkifli Zainal Abidin and Director of Internal Security and Public Order (KDNKA) Bukit Aman Datuk Salleh Mat Rashid.
Ismail said the policeman was shot while heading to a premises in the village and they returned fire to defend themselves.

2 commandos, 12 members of the deadly invaders in Lahad Datu Conflict
Two members of the Royal Malaysia Police commandos were killed and 12 armed invaders in the southern Philippines killed in shootings involving both parties in the village Tanduo here today.
Scene about 10 o'clock that morning also caused three other members of the security forces were injured, police said.

Security forces surrounded the village started Tanduo on 11 February when about 150 men dressed in military style and boat armed choppers intruded into the area on Feb. 9 and make a number of premises, including homes and prayer at the village as their base.
Tanduo the occupied village group located in remote areas, about 130 kilometers from Lahad Datu.
The group allegedly headed Kiram Agbimuddin claimed they were soldiers 'King of Sulu' and demanded Malaysia Sabah recognize as belonging to the Sultanate of Sulu.
Since then, Malaysia held a series of talks and set last February 22 as the deadline for their eviction.
