Petition: PR topple BN confident


Opposition has confidence in the government will be able to overthrow the BN including through

the proposed filing of a petition in the 20 to 30 parliamentary seats won by the ruling party.


DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang said, if the effort is successful, the government will topple BN and PR will take over Putrajaya.

"BN now have 133 parliamentary seats. Event of a petition which we will do, we managed to get 22 seats, which will reside in the BN only 111 seats. This means we will be the majority and so the government," he said here yesterday.

Lim said that, taking into account the popular vote, PR was a 51 per cent compared to the BN can only 47 percent.

"BN is able to support a minority of the popular vote," he said.

Elaborating on the petition will be submitted, Lim said the DAP's Gobind Singh Deo was appointed to head a committee that will look into the matter.

"We wait for the results 13GE enacted, after which the next 21 days, we can make a petition. Term we can submit a petition in the 20 to 30 parliamentary seats won by the BN," he said.

Asked about the challenges Umno information chief Datuk Ahmad Maslan to 89 candidates who won parliamentary PR in the last election because of swearing not reject 13GE, Lim said: "There must have been reckless challenge. We do not have to answer any challenge. "
